Policy on the use of Generative AI

Scope and Ethical Use

This guidance applies strictly to the writing and linguistic refinement process. Authors may use generative AI and AI-assisted technologies only to improve readability and language quality.

All AI-assisted content must remain under human oversight. Authors are required to critically review and edit all outputs, as AI can generate "authoritative-sounding" content that is incorrect, biased, or incomplete.

Authorship and Responsibility

AI and AI-assisted technologies cannot be listed or cited as authors or co-authors.

  • Accountability: Authorship implies legal and ethical responsibilities that only humans can fulfill.

  • Liability: AI tools cannot be held liable for research designs or published work, nor can they hold or assign copyrights.

The human authors are solely responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and referencing of all information provided in the manuscript.

Disclosure Instructions

Note: Tools used solely for basic spelling, grammar, and reference formatting are exempt from this disclosure.

If generative AI was used to develop any part of the manuscript, its use must be stated and described transparently in the Methods or Acknowledgments section.

Statement: "During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [NAME TOOL/SERVICE] for [REASON]. After using this tool, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content as needed and take full responsibility for the final publication."
