Negative Impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Image Generators on the Educational Process of Islamic Subjects

Abstract
The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), particularly in relation to image generators, makes it easier for teachers to convey knowledge to students, not only in general subjects but also in Islamic Religious Education. However, there are also negative impacts associated with the use of image generators. This study aims to highlight the negative aspects that need attention when using them in islamic subjects. From an islamic ethical perspective, several issues arise with image generators: (1) depiction of the face of Prophet Muhammad, (2) ease of accessing suggestive images, (3) misrepresentation of islamic history, and (4) leaving a false impression on Islam when AI-generated information is incorrect. Considering these issues, the use of AI image generators needs strict supervision when used by students to prevent misuse and misunderstandings in accessing knowledge about Islam.
